With so many activities available within Scouting, we need to ensure we continue to provide training and assessment opportunities for our members, so they can gain the skills required to run these activities safely. As a County we regularly run courses for leaders to gain their Nights Away Permit as well as courses for other adventurous activities. Further details of the Permit Schemes and Training Courses are outlined below.
Nights away permit scheme
The nights away permit scheme is an internal assessment scheme designed to ensure that all those leading nights away events for young people within Scouting have the skills, experience and personal suitability to do so. You can find full details of the nights away permit scheme on The Scouts website by clicking here.
Adventurous activity permit scheme
The adventurous activity permit scheme is an internal assessment scheme designed to ensure that all those leading adventurous activities for young people within Scouting have the skills, experience and personal suitability to do so. Full details are available here on how the scheme works, as well as support for you through the scheme, whether you are a leader applying for a permit, an assessor assessing an applicant, or a commissioner granting someone a permit.
