Nights Away Permit Scheme

The nights away permit scheme is an internal assessment scheme designed to ensure that all those leading nights away events for young people within Scouting have the skills, experience and personal suitability to do so. You can find full details of the nights away permit scheme on The Scouts website by clicking here.
Here in the County we are running training courses that will give you all the theory and practical skills you will need to plan your own camp to achieve your nights away permit.
The course consists of
Theory Day - one day at County HQ where you will look at the core skills of nights away, including finances, menu planning, health and hygiene
Practical overnight - one overnight stay at Ashworth Valley where you will put all the theory into practice.
The course does NOT award you your permit, you will need to plan a camp at a later date and one of the County Assessors will come and assess your event and if successful they will award you your permit.
